Ricardo Baliardo, better known as Manitas de Plata, was a Spanish flamenco guitarist of Catalan Gitano descent, born in southern France. Despite achieving worldwide fame, he was criticized for not following certain rhythmic rules (compás) that are traditional in flamenco.
