Josy Barthel
Joseph ("Josy") Barthel was a Luxembourgish athlete. He was the surprise winner of the Men's 1500 metres at the 1952 Summer Olympics, and the only athlete representing Luxembourg to have won a gold medal at the Olympics. Besides athletics, Barthel also led successful careers in both chemistry and politics. Josy Barthel, Luxembourgian runner and politician, Luxembourgian Minister for Energy (d. 1992)
